Am vergangenen Samstag hatten die Hagen Chipmunks, mit den Lippstadt Ochmoneks, ihren dritten Testspielgegner bei der Saison-Premiere in Haspe zu Gast.

Der Gegner war kein Unbekannter, hat man doch in den PlayDowns der vergangenen Saison eine kräftige Niederlage auf dem eigenen Platz hinnehmen müssen. Die Männer um Coach Richard Ramon waren also gewarnt und gingen entsprechend konzentriert zu Werke. So war am Ende das Ergebnis mit 19:5 nicht einmal unverdient. (Mehr …)

Pre Game Report, 19-5, 9 Innings

Pitching staff did well again. On the new mound on Temper Field, Rico, Gerd, Sebastian and Christian showed no weakness. Carsten und Ralf took a day off this weekend with minor injuries.

Our pitching is going very well these pre games. They threw pitches that the defence could react and make easy outs.

We have started strong and have to end strong.

Don’t let us forget to mention the good job from our new catcher Christian Penger. Well done keep it up.

Our offence is getting better and better. Even though that we are sometimes still watching and thinking too long. But with some effort it will come along.

Dirk Lange had 4 good at bats, with 2 sac bunts and 2 base hits.

I proudly can say that you all are showing good team work.

I want to say thanks to Axel, Jo and the catering team for their help.

Thanks Lippstadt for showing up even though the weather was not so good in the beginning.

We will have training now twice a week since the time changed, Tuesday and Thursday´s 18:00.

Die Winterzeit ist vorbei, ab sofort trainieren unsere Teams wieder “normal”!

Die Trainingszeiten der Damen sind montags und mittwochs ab 18:00 Uhr.

Die Herren trainieren dienstags und donnerstags ab 18:00 Uhr.

Und das ganze natürlich auf unserem Temper-Field (Sportplatz Kurbrink).

Alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen mal vorbeizusliden….

Die Hagen Chipmunks trafen am vergangenen Sonntag im zweiten Testspiel auf das Team der Witten Kaker Lakers und siegten verdient mit 12:2.

Witten trat mit einem gemischten Verbandsliga-/Bezirksligateam an.

Schon von Beginn an dominierten die Chipmunks-Werfer das Spielgeschehen. Egal wen Coach Ramon auf den Mound stellte, der Pitching Staff der Hagener funktioniert in der Vorbereitung. (Mehr …)

Pre Game report, 12-2 in 8 inings

Another well played game at the Kaker Lakers field in Witten. Since Witten had more players of the second team on the field, the challenge was not as big as expected. Nevertheless, the pitching, batting and defense was very good. Again I had the chance that each pitcher could throw for a few innings. Since Carsten Pletscher was not at the last game in Herne, he also stood on the mound again. They all did a good job with less than 20 pitches in 2 innings. Because of good pitching and good defense, Witten only could score 2 runs. Again we had a nice double play, 6-4-3.

Our batting is getting better and better, even though some players had problems to keep their eye on the ball. Since it is the beginning of the year, I do believe that this is a small thing, we all can work on! With Christian Penger, Sebastian Balk, Rico Rehme, Gerhard Krajczy and Bryan Ramon, they all had 2-base hits. Also there were nice bunts and 1-base hits.

If we keep this up, we will have a good season.

I want to thank Witten for inviting us to their field.

The next pre-game is against Lippstadt this coming up saturday at home.

Auf das erste Testspiel, am letzten Sonntag, folgt diesen Sonntag Nummer Zwei. Mit den Witten Kaker Lakers haben die Chips einen wirklich harten Brocken vor sich, spielen die Kaker Lakers ja bekanntlicher Weise eine Spielklasse höher. Aber das muss ja nichts heissen! Die Jungs um Coach Ramon sind auf jeden Fall guter Dinge und werden auch ohne Sieg viel Spaß haben! Treffpunkt ist wieder der P+R Parkplatz Heubing um 12:00 Uhr. Das Spiel fängt um 14:00 Uhr, im Erlenbruch Ballpark in Witten, an.

Am vergangenen Sonntag reisten die Baseball-Herren der Hagen Chipmunks zum ersten Testspiel nach Herne. Dort traf man auf die Spielgemeinschaft aus Bochum Barflies und Herne Lizards. Das Spiel endete verdient mit 16 zu 6 und hätte noch deutlicher ausfallen können. Erwartete Abstimmungsprobleme und Positionswechsel standen einem höheren Sieg in dieser frühen Testphase noch im Weg. Pre Game reports, 16-6 after 7 innings.

A rainy day does not stop the Chips for puten in a good show. Excellent Pitching, defence and good batting. With bad weather this winter we had no time to have pitcher training this year and I did not know what to expect.

Gerhard Krajczy as starting Pitcher allows no runs in 3 innings and was relieved by Sebastian Balk with allowing 1 run in 2 innings. At this time I thought I could give my other pitchers a chance to pitch a few balls. Also on the mount was Ralf Klinger, Rico Rehme, and to close it off was Christian Penger. After a long break Rico Rehme faced only 3 batters, a pop up and 2 strike outs, welcome back excellent pitching.

Ground balls and fly outs, the normal defence drills to get players out, that is how we played today. We had 2 double plays this game with excellent defence from Bryan Ramon. Playing third base and shortstop every ground ball was an out. I think as infielder he will help the team a lot.

I could see we were more relaxed at our first plate appearance. I had everyone bunt the first time at bat to get the feel from live pitching this year, (keeping the eye on the ball). We had only 8 hits this game, but it is our first this year. I think it will get better as we warm up for the coming season.

I want to say thanks again to the team Bochum/Herne for the test game.

Next Pre Game is against Witten, they are a class higher than us. We will have to wait and see what happens.

Nach Tagen der Planung und Vorbereitung (Danke, Carsten!) stehen nun die Spielpläne für die Saison 2009 fest. Allen Interessierten stehen sie unter den Links http://www.hagen-chipmunks.de/teams/baseball/ und http://www.hagen-chipmunks.de/teams/softball/ zur Verfügung!

Den Anfang der neuen Saison, leitet das Baseballteam ein. Sie treffen im ersten Testspiel am kommenden Sonntag, auf die Spielgemeinschaft Herne/Bochum. Es zeichnet sich ab, ein spannendes Spiel zu werden, traf man doch schon letztes Jahr auf beide Mannschaften… Treffpunkt ist, wie jedes mal bei Außwärtsspielen, der P+R Parkplatz Heubing. Abfahrt nach Herne ist um 11:00 Uhr, das Spiel fängt um 13:00 Uhr an.

Die Damen starten am 19.04. in die Saison, und reisen zum ersten Spiel nach Dortmund. Der Treffpnunkt ist bekannt, Abfahrt ist um 14:30 Uhr. Das Spiel fängt um 17:00 Uhr an.

Da bleibt nur noch beiden Teams eine erfolgreiche Saison 2009 zu wünschen! Go Chipmunks, go!
